Wisdom to Decide

by | Aug 6, 2020 | Wisdom

While Jehu was executing judgment against the family of Ahab, he happened to meet some of Judah’s officials and Ahaziah’s relatives who were traveling with Ahaziah. So Jehu killed them all. Then Jehu’s men searched for Ahaziah, and they found him hiding in the city of Samaria. They brought him to Jehu, who killed him. Ahaziah was given a decent burial because the people said, “He was the grandson of Jehoshaphat-a man who sought the LORD with all his heart.” But none of the surviving members of Ahaziah’s family was capable of ruling the kingdom. – 2 Chronicles 22:8-9 NLT

Transcript:

Can we start this day by asking God to give us wisdom, the spirit of discernment, an understanding of the choices that we have to make?

Sometimes, the choices we make can lead us outside the protection of God and we wonder why did God allow this to happen?

One such example in the Bible is the story of Ahaziah, who was the King of Judah, a grandson of Jehoshaspat. Ahaziah had the grace and protection over his life but however at that point of time he was found hanging out in Israel outside a territory that God had given him and when God executed judgement over the Israelites, Ahaziah and his family became a casualty and hence lost their lives!

How often do we find ourselves in situations like this. Doing things and making choices outside the will of God? This was not meant for Ahaziah but yet he put himself in this!

This morning, can we ask God to help us discern the areas where we are stepping out of our spiritual boundary? Can we ask God for wisdom to do what God wants us to do and not to do?

It is very necessary to ask God for His guidance and His involvement in our lives. The more we want to do things our way, the more risk we are putting ourselves in!

I pray and believe that you would start this day by seeking God and His will in all the areas of your life!
