Philippians 2:1 HCSB
“If then there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,”
The good news that we need to remember is that the Lord is near you and He has not left you. Jesus said that He will not leave us as orphans but will come back and will be with us and in us, which He refers to the Holy Spirit. The job of the Holy Spirit was to come inside of us and reveal to us who Jesus is.
Apostle Paul in Philippians 2:1 reminds us of the things that we can experience because of the relationship with Jesus.
– The first revelation that Jesus brings to us every morning is encouragements to our spirits.
– Second, He brings consolation of love. A love that heals, embraces you, gives you breakthroughs. Nothing else can fill the gap except His love that will make you feel special.
– Third, we will experience a deep close communion and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit in you which gives us new life.
– Finally, He brings affection and mercy. As we come close and align ourselves to Jesus, we will receive His affection and mercy.
His mercy will protect and cover you, not because you deserve it but because He is merciful Father, a King and a friend.
So today worship Him for the fact that you’d receive encouragement, consolation, fellowship, affection and mercy from Him.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
