Sacrificial Worship

Genesis 22:16-17 HCSB
“and said, “By Myself I have sworn,” this is the Lord’s declaration: “Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son, I will indeed bless you and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gates of their enemies.”

The one reason why God gives us His resources, His new blessing and new mercies every morning is so that we give it back to Him. The greatest reason that we don’t receive from God is because we are not good in giving back to God what we have already received.

The blessing that God gives is not exclusively for our enjoyment but it is so that with those blessings we will be able to worship God better.

The more we give the resources to Him the more it will increase.

In Genesis 22, where it mentions about God asking Abraham to sacrifice his only son and Abraham without having a second thought he went ahead to sacrifice his son. But when he was just about to sacrifice him, God intervened and stopped him and blessed him.

There are two blessings that God blessed him with:

1 – that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars and the sand.
There will be multiplication and increase and overflow in every area of your life when you surrender to God.

2 – that his offspring will possess the gates of their enemies.
Which means that not only we will experience multiplication or increase but we will see that we will have victory over our enemies.

We may think that sacrificial worship is laying/killing yourself down and not get anything in return (though this should be the heart behind it)but when we study the life of every sacrificial worshipper that God dealt with like Abraham or David or all the prophets in the Old Testament who sacrificed everything, God blessed and promoted them and also gave them victory over each and everyone of their enemies.

I declare that not only you will increase, but also you will posses, not only you will multiply but you will be victorious in your multiplication. In the name of Jesus let your worship please the heart of God today, so that it will not only be a blessing to you but also a terror to your enemies.
