Psalms 66:1-3 KJV
Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of His name: make His praise glorious. Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
Here, the psalmist is worshiping God, and he wants to make his worship glorious for God. Even as he is worshipping unto God, he is also encouraging the people that are surrounding him to worship God.
Our worship needs to constantly encourage and exhort others to worship God. When we live a lifestyle of worship and praise, the people around us will see the good works of our lives and they will begin to worship God too. Our lives have to be such that it should provoke people around us to worship God.
The expression of worship in this place is to make a joyful noise. Nowadays, we always hear sad stories and sad news. As a child of God, we have to be different, and we have to be the people that will make a joyful noise to the Lord. We have to declare and sing forth the honor of God’s name.
In this season, we need to write songs that celebrate the name of God and lift up the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We have to make His praise glorious, glamorous and exciting; something that is going to capture attention.
When you talk to people, you are encouraging them to make a joyful noise, but when you talk to God, you need to talk about His awesome works.
There are several enemies that God has which are also our enemies and are fighting us. The key to overcome these enemies is unconditional, radical, glorious praise and worship of God. When we honor and lift up the name of God, we are giving Him access into our lives to not just overcome His enemies but also to overcome our challenges and our problems. We are giving His power, access into our lives to fight our battles and that is the power of making a joyful noise to God, the power of singing forth the honor of His name, the power of making His praise glorious and the power of speaking to God and saying how great are His works in this season of our lives.
May our worship for God inspire others to worship Him.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
