Isaiah 25:4 NLT
“But You are a tower of refuge to the poor, O LORD, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall..”
Series: The Book of Isaiah
Today we are in chapter 25 of the book of Isaiah.
God is giving us an opportunity to call Him our refuge – a place of protection where we can depend on Him when we are in distress and in need.
Whoever it may be, we all need Jesus. God says if you come to Him, He will be a tower of refuge for you and protect you from the attacks of the enemy.
There are two kinds of attacks that the enemy brings:
1. Storm (which can be all of a sudden and may be damaging)
2. Heat (which is gradual and progressive from morning to noon and till the end of the day)
God is says no matter if your problem is a sudden outburst or a progressive increase of heat, He can still protect you from both of them.
The enemy’s job is to steal, kill and destroy, but God says when he comes to fight against you, He will stand as a wall against him.
It doesn’t matter what is the size of your problem or its intensity, Jesus is able to handle all of it and He is right there with you in this season.
Will you trust Him? Will you surrender to Him? Will you make Him your refuge?
The bible says “the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and be saved”. If you stay outside His presence, you cannot be saved, but if you stay under the shadow of His wings and presence, you will be protected, you will prosper and increase.
Do not be scared by your storms because God’s protection is upon you.
