Series: Worship in Chaos 

Isaiah 24 talks about the destruction, the curse, the problems, the judgement that is coming the way of Israel because of their disobedience in leaving God and because of their idol worship. The spiritual atmosphere in Israel has already become dark and people are going to receive the punishment for what they’ve been sowing for years at a stretch. The prophet is preaching and teaching them that if they continue in their wicked ways, they are going to end up in a miserable condition, in destruction.

In the middle of these destructive prophecies, he gives an encouragement to them. He says that even though things in their lives are not going as they planned for it to be, let all those who are left with whatever is left on the inside of them, Shout and Sing for Joy! Those in the West, Praise the Lord’s Majesty!

God is still expecting worship from us even in the middle of chaos and problems that we go through when we walk away from God. Even in the midst of all this, the only thing that God is interested in is our worship, if our worship is still coming out for Him, if we’re still shouting for Him, if we’re still singing for Him. This is what is most in the heart of God.

There is great power in worshiping God in the middle of chaos and crisis. Anybody can worship God when we’re blessed and when things are going right, but the power in worshiping God in the middle of a crisis is that the worship that we bring to God will descend the presence of God over our chaos and over our crisis.

When God descends over our chaos and crisis, it has to begin to turn, to change its direction, to change towards God. As word says ‘ All things work together for our good ‘.

Let us invite His presence and majesty into our lives today. The more sensitive we are to Him, the more we begin to shout and sing to Him, the more He will make himself manifest to us.
