My Punishment
Listen
Transcript:
Welcome to this brand new week that God has given us. Because there is evil in our actions and in our day to day lifestyle, we need to remember we have all sinned and fallen short of Gods glory and Gods law demands that we receive the punishment for our sins.
According to today’s scripture, physical pain or punishment should be inflicted on those who cause injury to another, it further shows that we do not deserve the mercy and grace of God. When Jesus died for us, he was taking our punishment, He died in our place.
We should remember that when we engage in evil activities or said bad things to other people or live a lifestyle that is not glorifying to God, we have to remember those whips and the pain he bore on the way to the cross as He was carrying our sins and because of that He was disconnected from His father. Gods law is irrefutable and We should remember the fact that our punishment was paid for and completed by Jesus and today we can live free even if we have done something wrong because of what Jesus did and knowing this, it needs to bring us to a place of surrender and humility. And now that we understand that Jesus had carried all the pain that was supposed to be ours we need to ask Jesus to give us that life to live in a new way so we don’t do things that will be hurtful to others or in speaking things that will dishonour Him.
We get to live the life of Jesus because Jesus died the death that we should have died. Let us take that step today to walk with Jesus and if there are areas where you need to surrender to Jesus, make that step today.
