Understanding to Revelation
Listen
Transcript:
Welcome to this brand new day and a brand new opportunity the Lord has made to know him better, to understand him better and to walk with him afresh.
“Dominion doesn’t come by inheritance, dominion comes with understanding”. When you have an understanding of your authority, that is when you will be able to have dominion. When you have an understanding about your rights, your gifts, your abilities, your God, the Bible says they that knows the God they will do might exploit, it is necessary for this season we grow with understanding and divine knowledge.
Mark 12:34 says, “Realizing how much the man understood, Jesus, said to him, “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” And after that, no one dared to ask him any more questions.”
Jesus was making this statement about a person who had knowledge, information, who had an understanding and had not entered the kingdom of God, but the understanding he gained was bringing him closer to the kingdom of God.
Understanding will not help you enter the Kingdom of God, only revelation will make you enter the Kingdom of God. Share on XUnderstanding can bring you very close to the Kingdom, can bring you close to the door where you need to walk through.
Jesus looked at Peter and said, “flesh and blood has not revealed these things to you, it had to come from My Father in heaven. Peter, what you just confessed with your mouth, that was a revelation, it was not just understanding.” In the case of this guy, he had understood well, he had grown in his understanding, now he was almost ready to receive a revelation.
When you grow in understanding, you set yourself up for revelations from heaven. If you continue to persist, there will be a moment of revelation that will push you into a new dimension of knowing and walking with God, if you will not give up. The problem with so many of us is we come so far to get to know God and at one point we become lazy, we feel we know everything, we become familiar, we let offence take over our hearts and it dries out the pursuit of God’s presence.
You are not far from the kingdom of God, every morning when you receive a revelation from this podcast, it is drawing you closer and closer to an encounter with God.
In this season, you have to watch out for every canal activities that are not of God, every interaction with people around you that has the potential to drain out your desire to remain close to the kingdom of God.
It says Jesus saw how much he understood, God is not searching for those who have a lot of earthly intellectual wisdom, God is searching for those with heavenly understanding, wisdom, knowledge, those that have renounced or refused to be the wise of the earth. On the earth you may be known as a foolish person, sometimes the foolish of the earth is the wisdom in the sight of God and the wisdom of the earth is foolish in the sight of God.
In fact, the Bible says that Jesus himself is the wisdom of God, so if you can grow in a relationship with Jesus, keep him at the centre of it all and keep your eyes fixed and focus on him, you are going to grow in revelation. Peter looked at Jesus and said you are Christ the son of the living God while many others were comparing Jesus to others like Jeremiah, Isaiah, to one of the other kings etc. While Peter decided that he cannot compare Jesus to anyone else or bring down my view of this Jesus to another conference, meeting that I need, this is a unique personality, there is no one like him, he deserve my worship, he has to remain at the centre and he has to remain at the highest position, that is when the revelation dropped into His spirit that pushed him to the next level of walking with Jesus, serving Jesus and representing Jesus to the entire world.
Have a blessed, beautiful and awesome weekend ahead!
