But Moses replied, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit upon them all!” – Numbers 11:29

Transcript:

Greetings in Jesus precious name!
Let us be thankful this morning as we wake up to see this new day, as we encounter Him in a fresh new light let us acknowledge His love, mercy and grace toward us.

In Numbers 11:29, we see Moses expressing how much he wishes that everyone who belonged to the Lord would be like prophets and each of them would have the Lord’s Spirit.

The context behind his response was at a time when a few people went out from the camp into the wilderness prophesying and Joshua came to Moses questioning their actions, motives and Moses’ position in the matter. Moses could have easily stopped them or denied their doings but the reason why Moses says “don’t be jealous for my sake” followed by His desire to have all people filled by the Lord’s Spirit is because He took time to go into the heart of God and what would God desire for Him to do and chose not to act on His flesh or quench their Spirit. Moses lived under the dispensation of the Law, and under the law, one cannot just merely become a prophet and one cannot just be filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesy but yet Moses searched the heart of God and had a desire that all people that belonged to the Lord ought to have the Holy Spirit. We see it written similarly in the book of Joel, that the Lord will pour out His Spirit to all flesh not merely one or two but to all!

It is necessary for us to respond with our heart, mind and desires of God and not by the flesh. Share on X

It is in the heart of God that all His people receive the Holy Spirit, dreams, visions and revelations from Heaven. Can we go to that place where we can grow and respond in the same way? As we go through different opportunities or circumstances can we choose to search the heart, mind, ways and desires of God and not react and respond in the flesh? Today onward can we be mindful to account for every word, every statement that comes out of our mouths and make it heavy with the presence of God; with the breath of God. May you be encouraged this morning to be able to seek the Lord in all these things, to seek His guidance with regards to every word, thought or deed. Let us choose not to respond conforming to culture or system or the practices or even traditions of man. Let us be mindful to withdraw our responses based on these intentionally.

May you be encouraged to respond through the mind of God. To make this happen we need to pursue the mind of God, to make time, spend time and pray like never before with worship. We can be transformed only when we are in His presence; intentionally pursuing His presence.

Choose today to go after the heart of God! May you be known to be those who pursue the heart and mind of God just as David and Samuel did. In everything consult the Lord your God. The Lord delighted in Moses because He was humble and emulated His humility. Can that become our testimony where our character and life represents the heart of God? May you be encouraged to have Godly responses. May we choose to speak life just as Jesus did!
