Compassionate Like Jesus

Greetings in Jesus precious name! Welcome to this beautiful new morning that the Lord has given us. Let us go to the book of Proverbs 12:10. It says, “The godly care for their animals, but the wicked are always cruel.” There is a big distinction made between the godly and the wicked. The godly are always careful to show their love, affection, compassion to people around them. It includes even their animals. But the wicked are always cruel to people around, even with their animals.
Now, this is what I want you to remember in this season of life. Are you a wicked person or are you a godly person? What is your identity? Are you a child of God are are you a son of the devil? Your identity needs to drive your actions. If you are a godly person you are doing by the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you. What does the Holy Spirit do in you? Not only He gives you the power to do cool and great miracles and wonders, but the presence of the Holy Spirit is also there to enable you to be like Jesus. Jesus is the greatest and the best example of godliness that has walked on the earth and when we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us that same godliness is reproduced in us and starts to flow through us. When we allow the Holy Spirit to not just do miracles and wonders through us but also to transform us to change our character where we fellowship with the Holy Spirit so that He can mould our heart’s desires and emotions so that godliness can be produced from and through us. One of the first fruit of the Holy Spirit is that He produces love in us. When we look into the life of Jesus we see so much love. This Jesus, our Master, our Saviour, our role model loves everybody. He does not disregard or reject anybody based on gender, financial status, spiritual status, social status, how they look or what nationality they are from; He loves everybody.
This is the kind of lifestyle that God is calling us to, that we would continue to serve and love everybody. In this particular word, it says that the godly care for their animals. That is the devotion, commitment, seriousness of their love and compassion. It is easy to love somebody from whom you will get back love and compassion but when it comes to animals what can they give back to you for what you have done for them. But the godly ones do good to their animals but the wicked are cruel to the people around them, their families and they disregard everybody.
My question this morning is who are you? What is your identity? What is it that you believe about yourself? Are you someone who is made in the likeness of God? Are you somebody who is trying to be like Jesus? Is that what you are praying to the Holy Spirit to do in your heart and your life? If yes, then you need to constantly be willing to allow compassion, love, forgiveness, grace, mercy to be your response. You cannot be moved solely by your emotions, you cannot be quickly tempered or swayed by peoples opinion. You have to be a man of wisdom, you have to be a woman of integrity, you have to hold back when it is required, you have to stop speaking up when it is necessary, you have to know when to shut your mouth and just to be patient and release compassion and grace instead.
Your identity needs to drive your actions. Share on XMay the character of Jesus be formed in us, may the personality of Jesus be shown in and through our lives. My prayer is that in this journey we will become intentional to become more and more like Jesus. We will not reach there if we take it just as it comes. We have to become intentional and desire for it and pray for it. We want to represent Jesus in our city, in our nation, in our homes, even to people who don’t love us or don’t care about us. When that is our desire we will see answers, solutions, victories and breakthroughs in every step.
I hope this word was an encouragement to you today. Have a blessed and beautiful day ahead.
