For the LORD hardened their hearts and caused them to fight the Israelites. So they were completely destroyed without mercy, as the LORD had commanded Moses. – Joshua 11:20 (NLT)

Transcript:

Good morning and greetings to you in Jesus name.
Today, I want to remind you that God is in control of every relationship that you have. Sometimes we might wonder, why is it that some people are fighting me constantly or some people don’t accept me or some people don’t seem to embrace me at all! We should understand that unless God wants them to be your friend they will not and they cannot! God has specially chosen you for a holy purpose and God is sovereign about every relationship that you should have. When you walk this life with firm belief and understanding that every relationship that you have is in God’s hand and God determines who can be friends with you and who doesn’t need to be friends with you, who should love me and who should not love me. When you walk with this firm realization you will be able to trust God plan in every area of your life.

In the book of Joshua chapter 11 verse 19 and 20 we see that the original inhabitants of Canaan did not make peace with the Israelites. It says that God had divinely hardened their hearts so that they do not make peace with the Israelites. Similarly, there are some people whose hearts God has hardened so that they will not associate with you so that they will not welcome you home or give the support that you require. God has divinely kept you away from certain kind of people and certain relationship. We have to learn to be thankful for that because the bible says, as a result of God hardening their hearts, God was able to show off His glory through the Israelites. The Israelites were able to defeat every single one of their enemies. When you feel that there are a lot of enemies in your life and a lot of challenges in your relationships, do not be discouraged. There are some relationships where God has hardened their hearts not so that you can hurt or destroy them but so that God can demonstrate His glory in and through your life in front of your enemies. God is a mastermind at preparing a table for you in the presence of your enemies. It’s in the middle of darkness that the light shines the brightest. My hope and prayer are that you will yield to this sovereign plan of God in this relationships today.

Can you pray this prayer, Lord can you divinely disconnect people that are not suppose to be in your plan for my life. Divinely push them away. Harden the hearts of those who do not love me. I don’t want those people that are not your assignment for me. There is a big difference between friendship and fellowship. Jesus was a friend of sinners but he did not fellowship with them. You can befriend the whole world, you can love them, serve them, be unto them the way Jesus was and yet you don’t need to fellowship with everybody. Jesus was very particular with whom He should fellowship. Even though crowds came to Him, He did not entrust His heart to anyone of them. In fact, even among the twelve disciples, He did not fellowship with all the twelve.

So today, yield to what God is doing in your relationships. Don’t be upset when people are angry with you. Just let the Lord do what He wants to do.
