An Appeal to Caesar!

If I have done something worthy of death, I don’t refuse to die. But if I am innocent, no one has a right to turn me over to these men to kill me. I appeal to Caesar!” – Acts: 11:25 (NLT)
Transcript:

God is faithful and merciful every single day to give us a new strategy, a new way out and a new answer. Every passing day, we have to learn how to depend on God for a new way and a new answer.

In Acts Chapter 25, Apostle Paul was standing before Festus for trial and in verse 11 he says “If I have done something worthy of death, I don’t refuse to die. But if I am innocent, no one has a right to turn me over to these men to kill me. I appeal to Caesar!” We should understand that this is the same Apostle Paul who has walked with God and filled with amazing wisdom and revelations that he cannot even talk about here on earth, and now when it came to his own protection, he did not receive the same protection that Apostle Peter had when an angel came and took him out of prison, and yet, he asked God as to what should be his strategy and how to deal with the officers, courts, and governors proving his innocence. Now, Caesar was the Emperor of the Roman Kingdom and Apostle Paul was a Roman citizen and he appealed to him. Apostle Paul has access to the King of the Kings, and yet, he is now willing to appeal to Caesar, something that does not look like what an anointed man of God would do, and that is where we need to understand the wisdom of depending on God for each day is not just asking God to do the same thing he did for others but asking God for a unique strategy for your deliverance.

The wisdom of depending on God is not just asking to do what He did for others but asking for a unique strategy for your deliverance. Share on X

God had already revealed to Apostle Paul how he must stand before Caesar and testify about Jesus, and how his death is going to be, so it was very easy for him to appeal to Caesar. Paul had such a deep revelation of where God was taking him. If Festus and others would have done these trials, they would have let him go free, and yet right now because he has appealed to Caesar, they had to take him to Rome and make him stand before Caesar and that is the confidence with which a child of God needs to live.

In some seasons. God is going to send His angels to bring us out of the prison, but in other seasons, we are going to be led by God through the prison so that we can stand before Caesars and be a witness so that we can proclaim the love, the grace and the freedom that we have in Jesus Christ.

This morning let us ask the Lord for a strategy and revelation of how our circumstances and challenges can bring glory to God.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
