For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement, by reason of the life [which it represents]. – Leviticus 17:11 AMP

Praying that today we will continue to walk with God. The more we go to him and try to understand everything that he has done for us, the more we will be able to tap into the blessings and receive the benefits and we will now flourish, be cherished and nourished because of what Jesus as done for us. When we look at the cross of Jesus it is easy to take it as a one time thing that God did but the more we meditate on what Jesus did for us on the cross, the more powerful the cross will become each and everyday of our lives.

In todays verse the word of God shows us that it is the blood of Jesus that makes atonement for our lives. Life is in the blood and that is why blood has to be spilled on the altar because when the blood is spilled, there is atonement made. Every word is a prophecy and a symbol of what Jesus would do for us on the cross and when Jesus gave up his blood for us, he was giving up his own life so that we who are physically and spiritually rotting away because of our sins can now experience the life of God.

The blood of Jesus carries life and it is not just one which makes us experience forgiveness of sins but also one which gives us a new life in Christ, living for God and having a relationship with him. There are so many people in the world who do not have this relationship or access to God the way that we have, hence we have to be thankful that we now have a unique purpose for our lives because the blood of Jesus covers every aspect of our lives.

When we plead the blood of Jesus to sanctify our lives, everything that we do comes under the covering of that blood and as a result of that the life of Jesus’ blood begins to transfer in our conversations, relationships . Jesus had to come and become flesh in order to have blood that gives life for each and every one of us. The reason Jesus came in flesh and blood is for an atonement and a replacement.

In the old covenant, there was an animal to take the place for a person who had sinned, but in the new covenant we have Jesus who took our place and made sure there is nothing left for the enemy to accuse us. It was given so that we can be atoned for. Everything that we have done to be disobedient to the heart and mind of God has been replaced with the life of Jesus. The more we live in acknowledgement of what Jesus has done the easier it will be for us to live our whole life in devotion to him because it is no longer our own life but we live because Christ lives in us.

The more we meditate on what Jesus did for us on the cross, the more powerful the cross becomes each and everyday of our lives. Share on X

Prayer: Father we understand when Paul said to Live is Christ and to die is gain. His purpose to live was to glorify Jesus as it was no longer his life. Therefore, We thank you Lord for the blood of Jesus that has made this transfer of life possible. We receive grace to walk in the fullness of life that we receive in your presence. Praying that each of us will have the grace to live for you for the rest of this day and the rest of this week. In Jesus name we Pray. Amen!
