An Inky Blackness
Genesis 1:1-2 (MSG)
“First this: God created the Heavens and Earth-all you see, all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.”

This day is yet another opportunity to know the Lord, to walk with him, to experience him, to become a little more accustomed to the ways and the manner of the Lord. The Bible gives details of creation in Genesis 1:1-2, it goes on to say, even after the world was created because of the demonic occupation on the earth, and the destruction that followed after the rebellion by Lucifer and his gang against the Lord, the earth was a dark abyss and it was void. But yet, the Holy Spirit, like a dove, was brooding over the watery abyss. The spirit of God was waiting upon the earth and was still working upon the earth.
However we’re feeling, whatever we’re going through, whatever chaos, confusion, all the challenges that we face in our heart and our mind, the Lord is saying, don’t worry! because my holy spirit, he’s still brooding upon your life, the spirit of God is still working upon you. It may look like nothing good is going to come out of our life, but the holy spirit is going to wait on us, till we’re prepared, till we are propelled into our destiny, as a life creator.
We have to pay attention to how the Holy Spirit works in our life, and what he does specifically to reorganise and reaffirm us, not just to write us off when things go bad. In any messy situation, he still doesn’t give upon us…. What a beautiful revelation of the heart of Jesus? What a beautiful revelation of the merciful nature of the father we receive, because of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives.
This season, we’re going to be dwelling upon the nature of the Holy Spirit. We are going to understand what does it take to develop an intimacy with the Holy Spirit, because, if we can just learn this one principle, we can unlock unfathomable riches and unimaginable power and revelations. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit, as he lived on earth, we need the him too.

Lock the Door
Matthew 23:13 (GNT)
““How terrible for you, teachers of the Law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You lock the door to the Kingdom of heaven in people’s faces, but you yourselves don’t go in, nor do you allow in those who are trying to enter!”
Healing and Bandaging
Psalms 147:2-3 (GNB)
“The LORD is restoring Jerusalem; he is bringing back the exiles. He heals the broken-hearted and bandages their wounds.”
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
