Inconsistent Disciples

Welcome to Another Day with Jesus!
Let us allow the Lord to come into our hearts in a new way to change and transform us. We need more consistency with the Lord with what we say to people and our motive must be in sync with how we live our lives. When there is an inconsistency, it is not pleasurable to God. In the book of Luke, chapter 20, Jesus reacts to a situation of inconsistency.
There are two types of people in this context, which is the crowd who do not necessarily follow Jesus and do not accept everything He says and the Lord does not expect anything from them. At times, we point out the world for double standards. The truth is that they do not carry the relationship with God and not accountable to Him which is why they are bound to behave hypocritically. The second type of people in the context are the disciples. Jesus looks at them and warns about the teachers of religious teachers who cheat and asks the disciples to keep away from them as we tend to learn from them habitually.
These teachers are not favourable in His sight because they carry out their ministry with being intentional of pride and cheat others. Their public actions and private intentions are not in sync. Their intention is not to bring God glory but self-pride. Their way of dressing is because to gain people to look at them.
When we dress well, the intention should be to represent being a child of God and not for people to personal gain for people to look at us. When we do something with the hidden agenda to gain praise or compliment for ourselves, it is socially acceptable, but God does not approve of it.
We are consistent with the Lord only when our actions and intentions focus on His glory. Share on XThese religious teachers constantly look for honour and they want to stand out in the way they serve. But in their personal life, they cheat widows who do not have anything.
How often are we guilty of this? For doing something to do in public and different in private. If we tend to feel such a thing, we need to repent. We need to constantly guard our hearts and characters to stay away from hypocritical behaviour and people.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
