I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” – Luke 18:17 (NLT)

Transcript:

Greetings in Jesus precious name, welcome to this beautiful brand new morning. Today, I want us to be transformed into a new person, I mean God wants us to be like a little child, like somebody that doesn’t have much experience, like somebody who doesn’t know much. When we come to God and act like we know everything, we understand everything, we have everything, then we will receive little from God.

The bible says in the book of Luke 18:17, I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the kingdom of God as a child will never enter it.

If we need to receive from the Kingdom of God, then we need to posture ourselves. When you want to experience the kingdom of God the way that Jesus told us to, you have to unlearn a few things, that is harder to do than learning new thing.

Today if you can just be a little smaller, a little less mature and a little less knowledgeable, keep your learning’s on the side and come to God on a clean slate. Our pride wouldn’t want us to depend on God to that extent, our selfish ambition, all will work against our willingness to humble ourselves before God as a little child. But if you will go the extra mile today and if you will tell the Lord to give you the grace and strength to be humble, to be a completely brand new person, brand new child. In fact, the bible says in 1 Peter 2, we need to crave for the milk, the unadulterated milk of God’s word like a child will crave for milk.

A child craves milk every couple of hours, they are too dependent on that milk, if the milk is not there then the Child is going to be extremely bothered and it’s going to be very hard to pacify that child without that particular milk that is going inside it stomach every couple of hours, that is how God wants us to be dependent on him.

As an adult we think we can just control our hunger for 6 hours, we may even skip eating for the whole day if we have too much work until we are in die-hard need of food, we may not necessarily eat and the same thing we do that with our relationship with God, we wait for us to starve our spirit when our spirit has no other option but to go to God when we are completely deprived of spiritual nourishment, that is when we finally go to God for some relief and yet if we need to experience God’s kingdom and his glory of what he wants to release here on earth, then we have to be willing to just be dependent on him now and then, just like a child would depend on his father, on his mother, we have to be dependent on God.

The bible says when we are coming to God like a child, we will be able to experience and receive the Kingdom of God. Today, my prayer is that every one of you here will not just be somebody who knows about God, but you will be a demonstrating person of the kingdom of God, who will establish the kingdom the God. Today we have to be willing to receive, not just God’s presence, but God’s dominion, if we have to exercise that dominion in our World around us, if we have to go out there and make God known with power, authority, divine strength, then that requires for us to become like a little child.

When you pray are you able to weep like a small baby, Jesus said it like this, blessed are the poor in spirit, if you are poor in the spirit, the kingdom of God belongs to them. The kingdom of heaven now belongs to you, that is what Jesus meant by saying, we need to be like a little child, today my heart for myself, home, family, church and my people listening to me is that we will refuse to grow up in the sense of saying I know everything and I have everything, that when we come to God when we stand before the infinite greatness of who God is, we are still babies, we are still children and we have to acknowledge that.

We can definitely become great and mature when we compare ourselves to our neighbours, but when we compare ourselves to the greatness of God, to the goodness of God, the might and power of God, we are still babies and we will always remain babies, and if we can just humble ourselves and receive with a posture of humility, God will do great and mighty things in and through us today.

When you come to God as a child, you are closer to His heart & His Kingdom. Share on X

I really hope this blessed your spirit and this will provoke your spirit to do the right thing, to say the right thing to be the right person when you go into the presence of God.

Have a blessed and beautiful weekend ahead!

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
