Generation to Generation
Isaiah 51:8 (NLT)
For the moth will devour them as it devours clothing. The worm will eat at them as it eats wool. But My righteousness will last forever. My salvation will continue from generation to generation.”

Today’s devotion reminds us to shift our focus from temporary, earthly pursuits to the eternal purposes of God’s kingdom. Drawing from Isaiah 51:8, we are reminded that everything we see—wealth, possessions, careers, and even earthly achievements—will eventually fade away. Like clothing consumed by moths, the things of this world are temporary, while God’s righteousness and salvation endure forever. Therefore, our lives should not be built upon what is visible, but upon the unseen realities of God’s kingdom.
Jesus taught us to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that everything else will be added in His perfect timing. Rather than chasing success, comfort, or recognition, we are called to pursue what has eternal value. The work God accomplishes through our lives—bringing people to Him, building His Church, and advancing His kingdom—creates a legacy that extends far beyond our lifetime and blesses future generations. As we surrender our dreams and priorities to God, He aligns our hearts with His eternal purposes, allowing our lives to produce lasting fruit that will never fade.
