Wholesome Reputation

Greeting in Jesus name, welcome to this beautiful new day, new week and opportunity we have to continue to learn, grow and have an understanding of who we are and how the world should view us, respect us, honour us. Sometimes we are going to be persecuted, humiliated, looked down upon and yet there are going to be those that have discernment, wisdom and the revelation of who we are they will have the Godly reputation about us. It is necessary we live up to that reputation and necessary to pursue the right kind of reputation.

2 Corinthians 8:23, If anyone asks about Titus, say that he is my partner who works with me to help you. And the brothers with him have been sent by the churches,[f] and they bring honour to Christ.

There are three crucial things here, a reputation we should desire, a testimony we can ask the Lord to help us accomplish with our lives. The first thing that is said about Titus and the brothers is that Titus is a partner of Apostle Paul and he walks very closely with apostle Paul to help the church at Corinth. What God is really requiring in the church today is partners, those that will Partner with Apostle Paul.

Apostle Paul says, he is my partner and he works with me to help you because Apostle Paul’s heart is all about the Church in Corinth and the more you work with Apostle Paul the more you’ll become more passionate about the things that Paul I passionate about.

There are many of us who are walk close to our Pastors but you don’t do much to help the church, while others are doing much to help the church but don’t walk closely with your Pastor, you just work independently, but here is a definition of a partner, he will work closely with Paul and at the same time do everything possible to serve the church and be a blessing for the church.

The second thing that is mentioned about Titus and his brother is that they were sent by the church, not only are they working closing with their men of God, not only are they passionate about the churches, they are also sent by another church. You need to ask, everything that you do to serve the Lord, bless the church to bless the body of Christ? do you have the blessing of your church?

The third thing is that they bring honour to Christ, there were three levels of relationship that is required for them to have a reputation in the church at Corinth, they needed an understanding of who Apostle Paul is in their life, they needed submission and commitment to Local church and they needed a relationship with Jesus.

Today all that we look for is somebody that loves Jesus, but that is not how the 1st Century church functioned, they looked for people who had a relationship with God, Church and with their pastor. All of these three combined together is what qualifies you to serve God and have a good reputation in the world around us. Can we pray and desire for these today in our lives and homes and can they see that we have a relationship with God and our pastors and the church of Jesus Christ.

Let’s pray, Lord, we don’t want to be people that are doing things just for the sake of offing those things, we want to be those that are sent by the church, partner with our apostles and at the same time do what we do to bring honour to Jesus, everything that we do, let is be all about how we could bring honour to our Lord Jesus, we give you the praise, In Jesus name, we pray.
