The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, so he chased after the people of Israel, who had left with fists raised in defiance. – Exodus 14:8

Transcript:

Good morning and Greetings in Jesus’ name. Today, the Lord is marching you out from your troubles, problems and your struggles. You will not have to be in bondage forever. You are coming out victorious, you are coming out free in Jesus’ mighty name. Today, if you will trust him and continue to walk in the assigned path, you will see the victory that the Lord has planned for you. In certain seasons of our life, we may be discouraged by what the enemy is doing, but we need to learn how to walk in confidence with God, but sometimes that confidence requires us to be defiant and disobedient to the enemy.

Let us read the verse for the day, from Exodus 14:8 – “The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, so he chased after the people of Israel, who had left with their fists raised in defiance.” We know the context of this verse, Pharaoh and his army are chasing the Israelites into the wilderness, where they went to worship the Lord. When they were about to cross the Red Sea, Pharaoh sensed a little bit of weakness, tiredness and slowness among the the Israelites, he immediately decided to go after them to make sure that they continue to remain as obedient slaves, submissive to the systems and principles of Egypt.

Now in this scripture, you get a key of the posture of their heart, their mind and the posture of their body when God gave them this freedom, for it says that ‘the people of Israel, who had left with their fists raised in defiance’. These were the people who have left Egypt disobediently. For generations, Israelites accepted their defeat and willingly served Egypt, but, as soon as they decided to rebel against the system of Egypt which was oppressing them, God gave them a victory and a freedom.

Today, you need to picturize yourself with your fists raised in opposition against all plans of the enemy, for keeping you in bondage. It could be an addiction, a system, a belief, an environment, a relationship, a conversation… but today, you need to raise your fists in defiance. You need to have the same attitude that the children of Israel had when they walked out of Egypt. The moment we understand we’ve been purchased by the blood of Christ and we’ve been set free; the moment we understand the enemy cannot harm us and our destiny is safe and secure in the hands of the Lord; the moment it dawns upon us that the Lord has the final say in our lives; there has to be a fist raised in defiance.

We ought to boldly defy and raise our fists against the voice of the enemy. The moment we understand that we are purchased by the blood of Christ, he cannot harm us anymore. Share on X

Let’s pray together. Father, we thank you for divine boldness that is coming to your children to walk out of their Egypt, to walk out of their environments. We will no longer continue to behave and submit like slaves because you have set us free. You have called us your sons. Because you have set us free, we will be free indeed.
