The instruction of the wise is like a life-giving fountain; those who accept it avoid the snares of death. – Proverbs 13:14 (NLT)

Transcript:

God cares for you, and He is planning to make sure everything in your life works together for your good. The people and the support system that God has placed in your life is the proof of His care and His attention over your life.

Sometimes, we think that the people around us are just there to give us fellowship or friendship, but it is much more than that. According to Proverbs 13:14, identify the wise people that God has placed around your life which could be your parents, siblings, a leader, a spiritual father, mentor, pastor, etc.

The wisdom of this world perishes very quickly and it does not apply in every area of our lives, but the wisdom of God can be applied in every dimension and will work everywhere, and so find a man or a woman who carries the wisdom of God, because it is necessary that we do not ignore and devalue these people, and instead, we welcome and give them space and time in our lives. When we do that, they may sometimes give you instructions, directions, guidance and help, and it is necessary that you are receptive and listening to that instruction.

So often, we are okay as long as it is an encouragement, comfort and love, but we do not like the instructions.

The bible says that the instruction of the wise is like a life-giving fountain, so it is continuous, constant, and consistent. As you yield to the instructions, it will flow like a fountain and there will never be a time when you lack instruction and this instruction will be life giving in every area of your life where there is a decay, an injury, trouble, or struggle.

It will help those who accept and receive it and are willing to humble themselves under these instructions and acknowledge the goodness and greatness of these instructions, and they avoid the snares of death which could be physical death, spiritual death, emotional breakoff, or financial bankruptcy. To overcome the snares of death that the enemy has placed, it is not by more prayer, bible reading, or fasting, in fact those are very important, yet the Bible says that an instruction from the wise can help you overcome the snares of death.

The fact is, we are unwilling to recognize those wise people that God has placed in our life and their instructions, and we are constantly worried about how we can overcome these snares of death.

Today, recognize a few wise people in your life, thank them for being a life-giving fountain in your life and request them to continue to give you instructions, teachings and revelations.

The more you are grateful and receptive, the more God will use them to bring life and to help you avoid the snares of death.

An instruction from the wise can help you overcome the snares of death. Share on X

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
