Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last. – Proverbs 11:18

Transcript:

Greetings in Jesus precious name!

Get ready and prepare yourselves to receive from Jesus for He is our source and sustainer of everything we need.

In Proverbs 11:18, it talks of the reward of the Godly. Godliness refers to the persona of God and who He is. If we are to be Godly people, we need to have Hid personality and be in His character. He created us for that very reason to be just “like” Him not just His image but His likeness.

We see today that although we were made and created to be in His image, we are not in His likeness. This is because sin corrupted this image and corrupted that likeness. Today we are called to pursue a life in His likeness. When we are rewarded by God, it is lasting, unlike the earthly material rewards that never seem to be enough. When we believe and have faith, we will receive heavenly rewards here on earth and it will be lasting and fruitful and speak of the glory of God. These rewards will not only be a blessing to you but to those around you.

This morning, let us pray to be Godly children of God who receive lasting rewards that cannot be stolen away or disconnect you from a Godly life. For evil people also get rich and receive rewards but they last only for the moment and leave them always wanting more for they are never pleased. If we don’t have Jesus to be the center of our life and everything in it and being Godly is not our goal or standard our riches will be temporary.

We need to realize the brevity of our life here on earth and realize that no matter how much we earn and receive riches here on earth it will only last here and nothing in eternity. Share on X

Let us be mindful of how we live our lives and not be people who sell our worth, our dreams, our ambitions, our rigour to serve God for the sake of one moment of temporary riches. Let us live for something that will last for eternity. May your riches be eternal! May your rewards be something that last and speak of the glory and blessing of God.

Pursue Godliness and not have any evil intentions or desires for that will stray you away from pursuing God’s ways and living in His likeness. For if you do not pursue Godliness then in fact everything that you do is evil. May you receive an understanding of how to grow in this season. May you seek the righteousness and the Kingdom of God!

Amen and God bless.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
